Full StoryFree Case Evaluation: The Key to a Good Start
Have you recently been injured due to the fault of another? If so, you may have a personal injury case that is perfect for a high powered attorney. That being said, you are only going to give yourself the best chance of winning if you rely on the right attorney – they are not all the same.
From the start, you want to find an attorney who offers a free case evaluation. In other words, you tell them what happened, step by step, and they give you advice on where you stand and how to proceed.
During your free evaluation it is important that you have the chance to speak with the attorney who would be working on your case. The last thing you want is to consult with an experienced attorney, one who you like, but find out later on that you are being passed off to another.
You should never have to pay for a case evaluation. If a Virginia personal injury attorney asks for money upfront, you should tell them “thanks, but no thanks.” Paying a fee just to discuss your case is not a good idea.
With a free evaluation you will have the chance to meet with an experienced attorney, speak about your situation, and then decide if you have a case.

You should never have to pay a Virginia personal injury lawyer for them to hear you out and give you basic, preliminary advice. If a lawyer asks for a consultation fee it is time to move on. There are plenty who will never ask you for money.
What good is a free consultation? This is when you will be able to do two things:
1. Tell the lawyer what happened in your own words. Obviously, this is an important part of the process because it determines whether or not you will be moving forward.
2. Get a good feel for what the lawyer offers, how much experience they have, what they can do for you, etc.
There is no reason to setup a free consultation with a Virginia personal injury lawyer if you do not have a case. But if you have been recently injured and need legal counsel, you should think about setting up a consultation to further discuss your situation.
