In an ironic turn of events, a Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control agent has apparently been charged with DUI after rear-ending another vehicle on March 4.
According to the DailyProgress.com, the incident occurred in the Charlottesville area at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Airport Road:
The ABC employee,…was on duty and driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala south on U.S. 29 when his vehicle rear-ended a 2004 Chevrolet pickup that had stopped for the traffic light at Airport Road… [The ABC agent] told a state trooper he was responding to a call when the accident happened, and the Impala’s lights were activated.
Fortunately, both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither required medical attention.
As it involves a Commonwealth of Virginia employee, the incident is under investigation by the state police. The ABC worker was scheduled to appear in court today.
